Commercial Manager
Role
Provision of the commercial, contractual and financial management to ensure project profit and cash management targets are met on a wide variety of civil engineering, remediation, earthmoving, geotechnical and public utilities contracts.
Responsibilities Include
·
Check and advise on contract documentation
·
Understanding contract requirements
·
Implement risk and value management systems and cost control procedures
·
Assist with preparation of project financial forecasts
·
Admeasure work done and maintain site records
·
Manage Land Surveys and collate measurement data provided by Land Survey team
·
Deal with contractual correspondence
·
Identify change. Implement change control procedures and contractual notices
·
Value extra and varied works
·
Prepare and submit interim and final applications for payment
·
Assist with procurement of supplier and subcontract services
·
Administer subcontract accounts
·
Prepare Cash-Flow projections, Internal Valuations and Cost Value Reconciliation reports
·
Manage payment and debt recoveries
·
Negotiate with clients’ representatives, sub-contractors, suppliers and third parties
·
Deal with project insurance issues and claims
·
Implement staff assessments
·
Supervise and train assistant and trainee Quantity Surveyors
·
Understand health and safety obligations and requirements
Key Attributes
·
Experience in the commercial management of civil engineering projects
·
Sound knowledge of contractual arrangements
·
General understanding of contract law
·
Demonstrates commercially awareness
·
Good administrative and financial skills
·
Computer literate
·
Hands-on approach to all aspects of measurement, valuation and cost control
·
Good communication and client-facing skills
·
A good team player with the ability to work on his/her own initiative
